Shepparton has joined fellow Goulburn Valley League clubs Echuca and Seymour in the search for a new coach.
Bears coaching director Rob McCartney was meant to be taking over the top job from Brad Campbell heading into next season.
However, McCartney will be moving back to Melbourne for family reasons and will be unable to succeed the departing Campbell, who is stepping down after four years in charge.
Shepparton sits second on the ladder behind undefeated powerhouse Kyabram heading into the final three rounds of the season.
Andrew Briggs (Echuca) and Brent Colbert (Seymour) have already announced their intentions to not be coaching their respective clubs next year.
