After missing finals last year — the first time since joining the Picola League — Tocumwal is determined to return to the post-season action.

The Bloods have had a busy off-season, attracting several former players and some new ones.

Leading the list of recruits is 2009 Tocumwal premiership player and two-time Murray League best and fairest Lee Warnett after a five-year stint at Tatura where he has also played in a flag.

The club also welcomes back home grown talent Sam Boake who spent some time as coach of South Mildura in the strong Sunraysia League. Boake and former Tocumwal coach Darren Atkinson will be travelling back from Mildura.

“Sam has family over here so we expect him to play a lot of games, while Bull (Atkinson) has committed to the first two games and then we’ll see what happens after that,” playing coach Sean Logie said.

“We were all disappointed with how we finished up last year so we need to stay competitive and improve on winning those close games.”

The Bloods will be spoilt for choice in the middle with Cory Parish and Chris Patten returning to the club to join Logie, Ollie Rennie and Stephen Patten in the middle.

Club leading goalkicker from last year Dylan Flanagan will once again be a focal point up forward.

IN: Lee Warnett (Tatura), Cory Parish (Tungamah), Ben Shiels (Oak Park), Chris Patten (Berrigan), Brett Clarke (Rennie), Zeke Flanagan (Mulwala), Darren Atkinson (Bambill), Sam Boake (South Mildura), Patrick O’Brien (Cobram), Tylan Sharp (Finley), Hugh Haynes (Barooga)
