In their first season in charge together, Tyler Sprunt and Matt Dwyer are looking to form a formidable partnership down at Tigerland.

Not much has changed since last year, with only Mitch McGowern coming in while Max Thompson and Rhys Colbeck have departed as Sprunt searches for self-improvement from within his side.

“All our improvement is within, if we can get another 10 per cent out of each player, we will be a lot better off,” Sprunt said.

“It is easier to improve as a club if we can get a little more out of each player, rather than bring in a whole new host of players.”

Upon reflecting on coaching alongside good friend Dwyer, Sprunt was excited at the opportunity and could not wait to get the season started.

“It is really good, we have played a lot of football together and we know what each other are about,” Sprunt said.

“He can be the on-field leader and hopefully as a team we can bring success to this club.” Brad and Troy Parnell along with Chris Morris are expected to have big seasons for the club while Joe Wilkie will be returning after a lay-off from the game.

“We have had good numbers down at training and I’m looking forward to the year ahead,” Sprunt said. “Everyone plays football to win premierships and that is our goal.”
